Here's some of my political views and law ideas
Ban all helicopter joyriding! It's just noise and Co2, so why not ban it? Same goes for lugging around advertisement from planes or helicopters. If you need a banner high up, use a kite (or maybe a balloon?). Helicopter riding is also dangerous!
All new commercial buildings should be forced to collect it's rainwater from the roof. For flushing it's toilets. Here, we use top grade drinking water to flush our waste -what a waste!
All violent acts done for the purpose of filming it and showing off on the net should automatically qualify for a mandatory extra 5 calendar years imprisonment. No longer so "happy" slapping!
Casuals-law: Same as above for violent acts performed on, around football stadiums, on their way to or from a football stadium, or on match-day anywhere if committed while wearing football team apparel of any kind!
Gender quotas on immigration. Not only the young men from the third world needs protection. Let's enforce 50/50!
School traffic zones. Double the fines (and time for one's license lost) for speeding around 500 meter in each direction from any daycare, elementary or middle school.
All loss poker: All on line poker earnings should have a 95% tax slapped on it, and all banks and credit cards wanting to operate in Norway should be forced to tell on anyone suspected of earning money from on line gambling. I don't care that poker seems to be fashionable -it's still pure evil to me; More addictive than crack and even more expensive. It made a mum in Stavanger borrow millions from friends and relatives and supposedly commit felonies feeding her son's poker habits.
No gutting law. If someone bought a company and decide to close it down, they should be required by law to offer to sell it to the employees at 50% or less (too high a price would be forced down by a designated political body) than what they paid for it. That would stop market giants from buying it's competitors just to shut them down. Such a law could have stopped the evil corporation Rignes and the evil corporation Nivis Tyre from buying local brands, fire the work-force and re-labeling their own crap with the former local brands.
Now homecoming law. People moving abroad to evade taxes should loose their Norwegian citizenship forever!
Ingen dass-pass (No potty passports): Now, many people that has supported organized criminal traffickers throw their their fake passports into the toilet before landing and claim asylum. I opinion is that when checking in for an international flight to Norway, everyone should be forced to hand over their passport to the airline attendant (they would get a receipt that would incorporate a copy of their passport's picture page), and when landing, the flight crew would hand them over to the police that would re-distribute them to the passengers as they disembark. If the Police would re-distribute the passports, more people would be stopped, more fake passports would be confiscated resulting in the airlines being fined more often and ultimately becoming better distinguishing between fake and real passports.
No gun near cash: A junkie tried to rob me -A veteran -with a fake gun. I realized immediately that it was not a real colt 45, but a soft-gun or pellet-gun, and I did not see that a a threat to my life. I reasoned that if I let her go out of the place with it, she would have hit the next gas station in Sola Village with it. I threw her out of the place I worked, threw her to the ground and took her fake gun. This junkie who had escaped court ordered drug rehab called the police and confessed! But, she was later acquitted , claiming she sought out the gas station with her face covered in order to get gun instructions! I suggest that the law treats anyone with a drawn gun (or an item resembling a gun) approaching a teller as a would be robber. BTW: Esso Norge, a division of Exxon Mobil (who owns the gas station) was too cheap to pay me for the day I had to waste hanging around in the courts building waiting to testify in court when I was supposed to visit a relative in another part of the country!
Alcohol tax harmonizing: Too many people only buy the cheap vodka at the government wine stores (monopoly) here because a bottle of good brandy would cost them an arm and a leg just because they cost slightly more for the monopoly to buy, result in the price for the customers is multiplied several times. My opinion is that the tax on alcohol should be based on volume and alcohol content alone. This way, people could learn to appreciate a good brandy instead of only binge-drinking on cheap vodka. I feel that the tax is fine -just make it more “flat”.
No unlicensed boat rental: I love tourists and I want you to be safe when you're here. I feel that people should be forced to document with a small boat license like a Sportbootführerschein that they know how to operate a boat before being allowed to rent any boat that seats more than two people and/or powered boats -or rent a licensed driver. Here's a free safety tip that saves lives when you're fishing in Norway: “Only fools stand up two at a time in a small boat!”.
