MY PHOTOS - MY CAMERA COLLECTION - PHOTO RELATED LINKS- Foto-snekring/gjør det selv (In Norwegian)

Scared?

Some are high-res long shutter time experimental photos -not meant to be super-pretty -but then again I haven't spent a lot of time photoshop'ing them either.

My odd-eyed cat

She's adopted away now -she's really cute. She has run away from the new owner, so let me know if you see her in Stavanger

Last Farewell

Departure of the last ferry from Newcastle to Stavanger. Shame that this route doesn't exist anymore. This was my third cruise on this route.

Pinhole interior

An over-engineered pinhole camera I've made. Fits standard sized negative paper. If you live around here, you may borrow it.

Bangkok Babes

Live at "Gamla" in Oslo.

Cute box

Paper mache: It's a square box that I've opened and I've cut rounded sectors of card and taped to the corners, the whole thing then covered with glue soaked newspaper-strips. The "feet" are from an egg carton.

Just playing around with photoshop elements: This is compiled automatically from three jpeg's and then cropped and re-sized.

Brusand “Hitler teeth” Panorama

These are German WWII Wehrmacht made (probably with slave labor) tank obstacles. They're protected as historical landmarks.

The rest of the photos are old and in low resolution.

MY CAMERA COLLECTION

Top of page

"PRIDE AND JOY"-CAMERAS

  • Sony Alpha ADSLR100 - Website - I bought it used on ebay (house only) and collected it when I was in the US. I use the lenses and external flash from my 90s camera; Minolta Dynax 500. Works like a charm.

  • Canon PowerShot A720 IS - Website - A recent digital one (Christmas 2007 gift). Has just about everything I've ever looked in a digital compact.

  • Kiev88 - Website - Ukrainian Hasselblad copy -works beautifully.

  • Lomo LC-A - Website - A small Russian "cult" camera with a lens that makes it possible to take existing light pictures indoors without a 100000 ASA film. It's pre Lomo-club Russian (no "Lomo boy" markings). Will swap with a LCA+

  • Cronus 35DL - Website - A cute dual lens (twin) camera I got at Grønland bruktmarked for NOK 50 (about USD 10). Evidently also known as "Hanimex 35DL".

CAMERAS I SOUGHT AFTER AS A TEENAGER AND DIDN'T BUY BEFORE NOW

  • Canon Epoca Caption 135 - Website - Kind of tubular in design, and the "lid" housed the first red eye flash I had ever seen! Has anyone got a manual for it?

  • Chinon Genesis GS-7 - Manuals website -A super-zoom, kind of camera from the 80's that I got on online auction. I never could afford it when I was 18, but now I got if for £4 plus postage!

  • Kyoshera Yashica Samurai - Website - A half-frame super-zoom I was really coveting.

  • Ricoh Mirai - Website - An 80's super-zoom type camera I bought on eBay. Seems to be working fine, but has a rattling sound, so I suspect a small part is loose somewhere inside of it.

OTHER CAMERAS I CHERISH

  • Pen EE - Neat compact "electric eye" half-frame. A gift from a fellow pinhole enthusiast.

  • Agfa Box 44 - Website - Well, I think it's a 44 -it looks just like the one on the website, but have no leather on the front -only on the sides. I believe it used to belong to my grandmother's. Works perfectly -I tried a film with it as a child.

  • Balda Juwella - Website - Neat folding camera -a gift from my dad.

  • Panasonic C-520AF - Picture - My grandmother's 35 compact that she got some pretty goods shots with. It "chews" film these days, so she's gotten a "new" APS camera from my cousin now.

  • Agfa Isola - Website - A very compact medium format camera. Works fine. Hm -that shutter assembly looks like it would fit beautifully on a homemade view camera!

  • Pentax MG - Website - A neat SLR that is pretty easy to use. Got it from my dad: It's the latest film-based SLR he used. Nowadays, he use a Canon EOS D400 with kit lens and a huge Tele originally meant for Nikkormat with a converter.

  • Kodak Instamatic (and a few Agfa clones) - Website - 110 and 126 cartridge film cameras. Was my first camera (as millions of others will say). They really sucked -used cartridge film, X-cube disposable flash cubes that had to be mounted on extension "towers" or you'd get very read eyes (and this is before Photoshop, folks).

  • Minolta Dynax 500 - Website - I now use both the lenses i bought for it on my Sony Alpha 100 DSLR these days, so it just sits there. I used it all the time in Kosovo and Bosnia.

  • LEXIBOOK Spiderman Camera - Website - Maybe the last non disposable 35 camera ever sold in a Norwegian toy store? I gave the monocular to my nephew and kept the camera.

  • Olympus Camedia C-400 L - Website - One of the first digital cameras that "regular people" bought. VGA and CGA resolution. Great pictures indoors -very sharp! Used batteries like crazy, and could only store 20 high resolution pictures (yes, 640*480 was considered high res those days).

  • A few brownies. - Website - I got one of them for 10 NOK (about USD 2) at a flee market.

RANDOM GIFTS, TRADES AND PURCHASES (Will swap)

  • Chinon Auto GL (red) - My dad found it somewhere -someone was about to throw it away.

  • Pentax PC35AF-M Date - Website - Looks cool -I hate date on pictures (but it can be turned off). Lids are loose. It used to belong to an eccentric Norwegian billionaire, so even though it's battery and date-button lids are loose, a Pentax collector should appreciate it.

  • Barbie Polaroid - Website - Bought it for next to nothing just for fun -I'll probably give it as a gag gift to someone.

  • Agfa Optima Sensor - Website - In English - Not working, but it looks damn cool.

  • Zorki 4 - Website - A Russian Leica knock-off. No electronics -just adjustable shutter and aperture. Cool mechanics -seems to work fine, but haven't figured out how to release the film for rewinding, so I've "thrown away" one film. I guess I could just open it in a darkroom or changing bag every time.

  • Zenit FS-12 FOTOSNAIPER - Website - Is it a machine-gin -is it a hunting rifle -NO -it's a camera?? A manual SLR with a huge 300 mm lens mounted on something like a rifle-stock. Will swap for a Sony Alpha DSLR 200 body (or better Sony). It comes with the original metal carrying case, extra lenses, filters and stuff.

  • Sokol2 - Website - Huge Russian 35mm - Rangefinder doesn't work -strange -it worked when I purchased it. May try to fix it myself.

  • Olympus NEWPIC XB AF - Website - An APS camera I got for Christmas from IKEA. I never was a big fan of APS/Advantix, but my mum was happy to use it a few years.

  • Pentacon six TL - Website - A medium-format camera from the "Die alte DDR". No electronics or light measuring. Have completed one roll of film with it. Same kind as Tito used! Have to smack it every six frames (gets stuck). I'm going to use it's lens to enable my new digital slr to do shift/tilt photography the way this Make Magazine tutorial suggests.

 ITEMS I'M LOOKING FOR:

  • A 3 CCD digital video camera -preferably a Mini-DV camera

  • Old medium format lens -binding (but not stuck) aperture is fine

  • Any 1.4 aperture lens that I can use on my Sony Alpha body with or without a non-optic (no glass lens) converter.

  • AF Macro rings for my Sony Alpha.

  • The Russian and the Chinese Rolleiflex knock-offs.

  • Any unfinished DIY projects, darkroom chemicals/paper that's useless to you and you want to donate to me.

  • ChubaChop and FisherPrice 135 camera.

  • Holga 135 Color flash.

If you live close by, I'd be happy to take any old cameras you don't want or have inherited -even if they're broken, film aren't available and/or have no "blue-book value". If you have "a gem" (any working billow or Rolleiflex type dual eye box camera), we can swap or I can do you a favor like debugging your PC's hard drive for you. If you want cash for them -please use QXL, Finn.no or eBay.
